Chippy Buffet Table

The RDFCo. workshop has been busier than usual lately and I'm excited to share a custom table we recently finished. Our client initially requested a large dining room table made from an old door (it is what we're known for after all!) and quickly added a buffet table to match.

The buffet table top was made from reclaimed poplar. To get a chippy, worn look on the stained wood top, I applied a layer of Miss Mustard Seed's Furniture Wax. Hemp oil can also be used, but if allowed to soak in, won't give you the desired effect. I then applied two coats of MMSMP in Ironstone. The milk paint easily flaked off the areas where I had applied the wax, and a little sanding and distressing brought it all together.

We're starting on the dining room table this weekend and will be sharing those pics soon!
